Meow! Check out today’s big confrontation. For a minute there, I thought I was watching The View. I bet this thing was staged. Think about it, John Edwards needs to raise some more dough to keep his floundering campaign afloat. Ann Coulter, of course, wants to sell some more books and get more face time on the tube. This little spat solves both of their problems. Edwards gets to say “oooh, these mean conservtives are picking on me” and raise money from the liberals - and Ann gets to say use the appearance to instigate controversy to promote her liberal-bashing books and columns.
The question remains, why didn’t John Edwards call in to defend himself? Perhaps he had a hair appointment. Anyway, it’s got to be tough debating someone who has a terminal disease – she is infinately more sympathetic than John. But if she really cares about negative personal attacks, why isn’t she also going after all those mean-spirited liberals out there? They can be just as mean, if not meaner, than Coulter. If Elizabeth calls in to Bill Maher’s show, then I will believe her.
